BIO:

Jeff Fine (née Fein) began his musical journey at the age of five, when his parents signed him up for piano lessons. He didn’t practice much, and he would often hide under the bed when his piano teacher arrived.  His parents agreed that they probably should have signed him up for karate instead. Yet it was these lessons that laid the foundation for a lifetime love of writing and performing music. Jeff ditched the piano for a while in middle school when he realized that playing the guitar was way cooler.  He started strumming his mom’s old classical guitar, and then took some lessons and got pretty good. Jeff played guitar in various bands throughout high school, and he was also the “first chair” alto saxophone in the Great Neck North High School symphonic band.  Impressive, no?

He recorded his first original songs with his high school band Byrdman Douglas, and the recordings were heard by an estimated twenty-six people. In college at Colgate University, he played guitar in the legendary cover band High Pot Noose, and recorded an EP with his friends under the moniker RP McMurphy and the Boys. After graduating Colgate, Jeff stated a band called The Gibbs with his college roommates.  The band was named after the drummer’s pet rat, Gibbs, who himself was named for Josiah Willard Gibbs, an American mathematical physicist and chemist, who, according Wikipedia, “revolutionized thermodynamics, statistical mechanics, and physical chemistry. ”Ultimately, Gibbs the rat died, and The Gibbs went their separate ways, deciding to forgo careers in music and sell out to the man instead.

Jeff opted to follow his father’s footsteps into the medical field.  What a story! While in medical school, Jeff began obsessively recording original music.  And over thirty songs later, he’s finally (finally!) ready to share his music with the world. Jeff lives in New York City (but works in New Jersey, which is weird).  When not healing his patients or recording hit songs, Jeff enjoys playing tennis and basketball, practicing Spanish on Duolingo (current streak 803 days), and dining at vegan restaurants. Jeff also loves to spend time with his loving family and wacky group of friends, and making funny jokes. He doesn’t have a wife or children, but he does have an assortment of houseplants that he loves dearly. Overall, he’s a pretty cool dude.
